Local and international business angels, VCs and family offices bridge the gap at the Aarhus Investor Summit

On Thursday, October 6, more than 150 participants will gather at the Aarhus Investor Summit, where registered business angels, VCs and family offices will have the opportunity to strengthen collaboration across both the Danish and international investor communities.

Aarhus Investor Summit | Tech Edition is an annual event that creates a gathering point for both Danish and international investors and gives startups the opportunity to meet investors and raise investments. The summit puts a spotlight on entrepreneurship, which is essential for growth in the Central Denmark Region and the creation of jobs.

This year's summit focuses on tech and this time the stage is given to NATO Innovation Fund, NOON Ventures and futurologist and speaker, Thomas Geuken. Based on his deep insights as Associate Director of the Institute for Futures Studies and his work as an advisor to the Pictet Group, the latter will talk about how the Swiss multinational private banking and finance company uses megatrends in futurology to identify new investment opportunities. In addition, five up-and-coming and knowledge-intensive tech startups from the Central Jutland ecosystem will pitch.

"Together with our partners, we look forward to welcoming a summit that makes a special effort to build bridges between local, national and international business angels, VCs and family offices," says Mai Louise Agerskov, CEO of INCUBA.

"Collaboration across the Danish startup ecosystem is fundamental to ensure that tomorrow's innovative companies and transformative technologies can grow and reach their potential. I look forward to engaging peers in discussions about how we maintain and build this ecosystem," says Theis Malmborg, Co-founder & Partner at NOON Ventures.

Entrepreneurship award honouring startups and investors in Central Jutland

At the Aarhus Investor Summit, the INCUBA awards "Startup of the Year" and "Investor of the Year" will also be presented, both of which aim to highlight local enthusiasts who create significant results and inspire others with their efforts in the entrepreneurial environment in Central Jutland.

A jury consisting of actors from the startup and investor community in Aarhus has selected three finalists in each category. In the final to win the "Startup of the Year," award are NMD Pharma, Sepior and RE-ZIP, while local investors Bo Wase, Claus Hansen and Mikkel Ploug are competing for the title of "Investor of the Year".

"Startups create more value and that should be celebrated. That's why I think it's important that we as a society inspire people to establish, invest and take an interest in growth companies and startups. We observed last year that the INCUBA award created publicity and interest for the companies and investors. It is great that we can celebrate and highlight exceptional investors and startups through the award," says jury member Poul Nielsen, Regional Director at Danske Bank.

Aarhus Investor Summit 2022 will take place on October 6 from 14.00-20.00 at Aarhus City Hall.

Aarhus Investor Summit is organized by INCUBA. The partner circle consists of Aarhus University, Aarhus Municipality, Danske Bank, Danish Business Angels, Vækstfonden, Potter Clarkson and DLA Piper.
