The year in INCUBA: When ambitions meet, something special happens
A new generation of companies found their way to INCUBA
In 2025, even more national and international players chose INCUBA as their base. CrowdStrike, one of the world’s leading cybersecurity companies, moved in and underlined that global tech companies find it attractive to position themselves in the heart of Aarhus’ strong talent environment. Databricks, the company behind some of the world’s most advanced data and AI platforms, established its Danish hub at INCUBA, and Betterhands found the ideal setting to further develop their solutions in an environment that offers access to sparring, networks, and talent.
At the same time, Delphinus Venture Capital established itself at INCUBA with a new DKK 600 million venture fund. With its foundation in research, technology, and close collaboration with the university environment, the fund has already become an important part of the city’s financial infrastructure.
2025 left a clear imprint: INCUBA has become a natural gathering point for ambitious companies that want to go further – and who wish to be close to Denmark’s leading research and startup ecosystem.

INCUBA Next Level: A new home for growth and capital
Midway through the year, we launched INCUBA Next Level – a hub bringing together growth-ready startups and investors in a curated environment. The ambition is clear: To create a place where founders and capital meet at eye level, supported by an environment that actively accelerates their next step.
Founder Hub quickly filled with energy and curiosity from the first teams moving in. Throughout the year, AITSU Operations, Byte2Bit, Codeful, Complychain, DiFacto, iDetect, IT&, Pure Carbon Partners, QVersion, and LevitaCare helped shape the professional pulse of the house. Many highlight the proximity to both investors and fellow founders as one of the most valuable aspects of the environment – a place where ideas can be tested quickly, sparring happens naturally, and knowledge is shared generously.
Investor Hub grew in parallel, becoming a space where investors such as BCK Invest, Delphinus Venture Capital, Greenwise Invest, and SoundInvest work, exchange insights, and meet new cases in their daily routines. The combination has already sparked new relationships across the two hubs, for example through events like Founders Exclusive x Investor Meetup.

An ecosystem in motion: Capital, innovation and new products
The 2024 IMPACT survey once again highlighted the impressive progress among INCUBA companies. DKK 451 million in new capital, a record number of product launches, and a clear indication that proximity to Aarhus University remains a decisive factor for growth.
Scalgo was highlighted in the report as a prime example of this dynamic. The company strengthened its position with new software solutions for intelligent water and climate management – innovations requiring high-level expertise across computer science, engineering, and environmental technology. This is precisely why INCUBA’s proximity to Aarhus University makes such a tangible difference for them.
“We need the best and most creative computer scientists and engineers, which is why we are excited to be close to Aarhus University. At INCUBA, we future-proof our location in an inspiring environment, allowing us to attract the right competencies and continue our journey,” says CEO Morten Revsbæk.
2025 was also a year in which several companies reached new milestones. For example, Cystotech raised one million euros and achieved CE approval in record time. Kvantify secured DKK 37 million to accelerate the use of quantum technology in life science, Coana began a new chapter as part of the American company Socket, and GameScorekeeper concluded a major chapter with its acquisition by Oddin.gg.

Community, culture and shared moments
Beyond major announcements and new companies, 2025 was a year filled with strong community experiences. We hosted Gin & Tech, Investor Meetups, Female Founder Pitch, and Aarhus Investor Summit – events that brought together hundreds of founders, investors, mentors, and specialists.
The INCUBA Award once again became a highlight, with Formalize named Startup of the Year and Stefan Rosenlund awarded Investor of the Year. A celebration of those driving ambition and inspiring others to take their next step.
The year’s social events strengthened the culture that characterizes INCUBA – from the summer party with Patina on stage to team spirit at the DHL relay, Coding Pirates activities in our hubs, and companies represented at INCUBA stands at KDag at the Department of Computer Science and the TechBBQ startup summit in Copenhagen.
We also hosted more vertical-specific events and expert sessions, such as Arosii pitching at a Connect Denmark Springboard and a popular cyber security talk by Professor Jens Myrup Pedersen. These activities all contributed to the cohesion that makes INCUBA more than just an office environment.

Cybersecurity as a strategic priority: Security Tech Space made significant strides in 2025
Cybersecurity played a larger role than ever this year, and 2025 marked a breakthrough for Security Tech Space – still INCUBA’s largest strategic initiative in terms of investment and project volume. The knowledge center grew significantly in activities, partnerships, and national relevance. Most notably, it succeeded in attracting several major projects, cementing Aarhus’ and Denmark’s position as a hub for developing future secure digital solutions.
Security Tech Space was founded with the ambition of bringing together the actors who can collectively move Denmark forward in an era where cybersecurity is essential for everything from public authorities to private companies and critical infrastructure. Here, research, innovation, and industry meet under one roof – giving Denmark a uniquely strong position.
As Director Peer H. Kristensen puts it: “With Security Tech Space, we want Denmark to take the lead and show the way for the secure digital solutions of the future. We stand stronger when we collaborate across research, innovation, and business development. By bringing education, research, innovation, and the entire private market together under one roof, we have created a unique position that we must leverage. Our mission is to strengthen Denmark’s digital defence together with a consortium of more than 80 organisations and companies.”
Founded by the Alexandra Institute, VIA University College, Aarhus Municipality, Aarhus University, and INCUBA, Security Tech Space collaborates closely with companies, the armed forces, and the defence industry to develop technologies and solutions that raise cybersecurity standards in Denmark and Europe.
2025 laid the foundation for even greater initiatives, and Security Tech Space will play a central role in INCUBA’s work in the coming years.

A stronger INCUBA – also from within
Behind the scenes, INCUBA grew as an organisation. Several new employees joined the team: Lars Louring as Head of Acceleration, Christinna Selmer Læbel as customer coordinator in Katrinebjerg, Maria K. Weinreich and Cecilie Falk Gundelach in Navitas, Anne Baltser Pedersen in Skejby, and Thomas Marthinus Laursen in our technical team. Together, they strengthened our daily operations, supported the community, and helped ensure INCUBA remains a well-functioning and people-oriented environment.
It was also the year in which Aarhus University Research Foundation assumed full ownership of INCUBA – a milestone that establishes a stronger foundation for long-term ambitions to develop a premium science park that brings researchers and industry even closer together.

Looking ahead to 2026
Looking into the coming year, the direction is clear. CEO Jacob Doktor Mogensen frames the ambition:
“2025 showed what happens when we create the conditions for founders, investors, and researchers to meet in everyday life. In 2026, we will build on that foundation. We aim to strengthen the ecosystem even further, create more collaborations, and ensure that Aarhus continues to be one of the most exciting places in the Nordics to build a company.”
With several thousand participants across this year’s events and a community that continues to grow stronger, we enter 2026 confident that together we can lift ambitions even higher.
Thank you to all startups, companies, investors, researchers, partners, and employees who helped shape 2025. This year has shown the true power of community when given the right conditions.
Best wishes
from all of us at INCUBA
