Gin & Tech: Startup pitches, networking - and an ice cold G&T

When INCUBA hosts Gin & Tech, entrepreneurs, mentors and investors get an informal setting to share knowledge, feedback and new ideas while the tonic bubbles in the glass.

Gin & Tech is INCUBA's regular after-work format, where talented startups kick off the afternoon with sharp three-minute pitches, after which everyone raises their glasses and networks with each other. The event brings together the Aarhus region's ecosystem of mentors, investors, business people and specialists - all to accelerate young companies and build bridges for future collaborations and investments.

From pitch to partnership

The programme is simple but effective: Welcome and pitch round, seven to ten selected startups present their solution and get direct feedback from the audience, the bar is open and the conversation moves from the stage to handheld glasses, and finally networking, where time is set aside for informal dialogue, knowledge sharing and matchmaking between idea and capital.

Gin & Tech is aimed at mentors, investors, business leaders and other professionals who are passionate about passing on their experience to the next generation of growth comets. All participants are expected to bring is good humour and their best advice.

The results speak for themselves

The latest Gin & Tech at INCUBA Katrinebjerg once again brought together a strong field of founders and tech enthusiasts. Seven startups shared their visions - and left with valuable feedback, new leads and concrete collaboration opportunities.

Azpire Capital: Andreas Blom, Anthon Aaby Lorentzen & Jonathan Conrad combine financial research and machine learning to develop market-neutral strategies that give investors a safer way into cryptocurrency.
H2O Shift: Jeppe Juul Sørensen develops electrostatic treatment solutions that purify water with lower energy consumption and reduced environmental footprint.
SignUp Academy: Since 2017, Silas From Christensen has helped 500+ companies build and optimise subscription businesses with measurable results.
Sofina: Sofie F. Mønster, Nina Isis & Sofie L. Andersen launch Heart2Heart, an app-linked keyring that sends gentle vibrations between two people for increased safety in public spaces.

Spiritworld: Asbjørn Axelsen presented an all-in-one community for spiritual and holistic practitioners with integrated booking system and marketing.

Vis Commodities: Deldar Nawzadi balances the European grid by trading energy where it's needed most - and reducing waste elsewhere.
Wingmate: Jonas Højmose Dreiøe demonstrated an assistive device that gives people with speech disabilities their own digital ‘wing-mate’ who can hold conversations on their behalf.

Feedback that actually makes a difference

After an intense period of research, modelling and investor work, Andreas Blom, co-founder & CEO of Azpire Capital, took to the stage for his first Gin & Tech - and stepped down as an avowed fan of the format. Andreas and his team clearly presented their concept and got some good words and advice from the investors.

‘Well... I was sceptical at first - but you [ed. Azpire Capital] are really onto something here.’ That was one of the comments I took home with me from yesterday's Gin & Tech event at INCUBA. Because it hit home. It 𝘩𝘩𝘢𝘳 been an intense few months of deep research, model development and investor work. Yesterday it all culminated when I got to present Azpire Capital in a room full of sharp minds and constructive feedback," he says and adds:

"Thank you so much to Lars Louring and the entire INCUBA team for bringing together so many passionate people in a format that is both inspiring and down to earth. That's the combination that makes it meaningful: a strong startup field, sincere conversations, and feedback that actually moves. Being able to pitch our mission - to give Danish investors a more responsible and sophisticated way into the cryptocurrency market - and feeling the curiosity and recognition in the room, it was energising. Thank you to everyone who listened, asked, challenged and cheered."
