Attender: From gamification to global scaling

Heine M. Jensen is co-founder of the three-year-old software company Attender, which has developed a digital platform for schools. Using gamification, Attender works to increase attendance among students by rewarding stable attendance with badges and digital coins that can be exchanged for benefits such as items in the school canteen.

The platform has already matured far beyond the MVP stage and is ready for further development. The company has so far raised DKK 1 million and is seeking a total of DKK 2.5 million in a pre-seed round to scale further. Attender already has 40,000 users and 17 paying customers in seven countries, including the US and UK, resulting in an annual recurring revenue of DKK 400,000.

With four employees and an ambition to find smart money to help scale the company, Attender is ready to take the next step towards international growth.

INCUBA as a growth partner

Attender has been part of INCUBA since 2020, when Heine M. Jensen and his co-founders started the company Aros Cloud. After the Corona epidemic hit, the entrepreneurs chose to pivot and developed Attender, which they have now been working on for three years. Since then, the company has experienced great growth with a global presence.

According to Heine, being part of INCUBA has had a big impact on their journey:

‘Firstly, it's been great to have a place where we have all the facilities and meeting rooms and generally made us look professional. It has also been a really good network that has helped us a lot when we have been in a funding round,’ he says and adds:

‘I would recommend INCUBA because it's an easy place to start. You can scale your business and you have all the facilities you need, which has been brilliant for us.’
