Aarhus Architecture Week: When Asphalt Turns Green – Campus Street & INCUBA Next
How can we develop the city while also ensuring vibrant public spaces and green surroundings that create quality of life for those who live and work here? INCUBA and AART invite you to join a tour and dialogue through the first stage of the district’s new green main street, Campusstrøget, and into the new high-rise INCUBA Next.
We’ll meet at the parking lot at Jens Baggesens Vej 53, where AART will introduce how old asphalt can be transformed into a lively, temporary urban space—without removing the materials. Here, new methods of reuse and planting combinations are being tested, making it possible to create an “asphalt bed” where carefully selected native plants can thrive, despite nutrient-poor soil and hot surfaces.
Next, we’ll explore the first section of Campusstrøget, designed to become the green and unifying public space in the new Campus Katrinebjerg. From there, we’ll continue to the newly built INCUBA Next, where we’ll tour the high-rise. On the top floor, light refreshments and a short presentation about the building and the vision for the area await—along with a fantastic view of Aarhus and the chance to engage in dialogue about the city’s development.
Aarhus Architecture Week offers stories about architecture and urban development, insights into upcoming construction projects, the latest knowledge, traditional building practices, and sneak peeks into current trends and discussions that are constantly emerging. The week is open to everyone curious about architecture—across generations.
