MedicQuant secures millions to accelerate the development of diagnostic technology
The company has been awarded €2.5 million from the European Innovation Council (EIC) under Horizon Europe, as well as DKK 4.7 million from Innovation Fund Denmark. In total, MedicQuant has secured more than DKK 23.3 million in grant funding. The funding will support the continued development and validation of the company's rapid diagnostic test, designed to measure blood thinner levels in patients with suspected stroke.
When a patient suffers a stroke or a brain haemorrhage, every minute counts. MedicQuant's technology aims to provide clinicians with faster access to critical diagnostic information, enabling earlier and more informed treatment decisions.
From research to a growing company at INCUBA
MedicQuant has been part of INCUBA since 2023. Since then, the company has grown from two to ten employees, established its own laboratories, and taken significant steps from research-based development to becoming a company focused on product development and commercialisation.
"Being part of INCUBA has meant a great deal to MedicQuant. We have access to state-of-the-art laboratories and office facilities, which allow us to manage our development much more effectively. At the same time, we're surrounded by like-minded startups facing many of the same challenges, giving us valuable opportunities for sparring and a strong professional network," says Malthe Hansen-Bruhn, Co-founder and CTO of MedicQuant.
