DiFacto, part of INCUBA Next Level, launches a platform that identifies errors in supplier invoices

On May 1, the startup DiFacto will launch its SaaS platform, which automatically verifies supplier invoices and identifies errors in companies’ purchasing processes. Drawing on data from more than 50,000 analyzed invoices, the startup is shining a light on an overlooked but systematic problem.

Many companies have negotiated favorable pricing agreements with their suppliers. But in practice, these agreements are rarely verified.

DiFacto’s data shows that more than 10% of all invoices contain errors. This corresponds to between 1% and 1.6% of the total purchase amount.

“We started in the construction industry because we know it from the inside and quickly realized that errors in invoices are a structural problem, not an industry-specific one. DiFacto is built to give companies back the money they’ve already earned, regardless of their industry, and to provide them with better insight into their spending and price trends.”

Initially, DiFacto is focusing on companies in the construction industry with 10–50 employees, where the complexity of pricing agreements and a lack of time often mean that errors go undetected.

From pilot to scalable solution

The new platform marks the transition from the pilot phase to commercial launch.

DiFacto has already worked with 15 pilot customers and developed the solution through close collaboration and continuous iterations. The result is a platform that automatically reads invoices using AI, compares prices at the line item level, and documents discrepancies.

For one of its first customers, DiFacto identified overbilling of more than 50,000 kroner in a single year.

“We’ve proven that the problem exists—now it’s about solving it at scale. We’ve spent over a year developing and improving the system, and now we’re ready to gradually roll it out,” says the team behind the project.

In the short term, the goal is to onboard 40–50 paying customers and document the impact in concrete cases.

In the long term, DiFacto sees potential across industries such as retail and manufacturing—both in Denmark and the rest of Scandinavia.

DiFacto in Founder Hub, INCUBA Next Level

An environment that accelerates development

DiFacto is part of the INCUBA Next Level Founder Hub, where startups gain access to an environment focused on growth, mentorship, and networking.

For the team, this has made a huge difference—not only professionally, but also in their day-to-day operations as a startup.

“It has made a huge psychological difference for us to have a place to go and feel like a real business. It also sends a strong signal to both customers and partners,” they explain.

Access to other founders and mentors has been key. An environment where you can bounce ideas off someone who is in the midst of the same journey has strengthened both direction and momentum.

At the same time, it has had a tangible effect on the team’s work:

“As a team, it makes a huge difference to have a place that is ours. Alignment, team synergy, and efficiency just get higher.”

INCUBA has also opened doors to opportunities that can otherwise be difficult to access as an early-stage startup. Through the program, DiFacto has, among other things, received help applying for technical grants and gained access to experts and mentorship that they would otherwise have had to seek out themselves.

“At Gin & Tech, we’ve met a lot of talented people who just want to help. That’s insight we would otherwise have spent a long time trying to access.”

For DiFacto, it is precisely the combination of the professional, the social, and the practical that makes the difference: A place to build a business. A supportive network. And an environment that makes it easier to take the next step.
