New Security Tech Space initiative in Aarhus Municipality to be based at INCUBA Katrinebjerg

A future centre for IT security in Aarhus, Security Tech Space, will move into INCUBA Katrinebjerg and become part of the IT City from August 2023.

Security Tech Space is an initiative launched by Aarhus Municipality's cyber and information security consortium to target cyber security efforts for citizens and small and medium-sized businesses. The initiative will be a key link between research and capital, supply and demand, and will act as a catalyst for interaction and co-creation across the entire ecosystem of public and private actors.

The address is set: Security Tech Space will move into INCUBA Katrinebjerg, which houses Denmark's strongest IT environment with more than 100 companies and at the same time constitute a large part of the entire IT city Katrinebjerg. The initiative will be led by CEO Peer H. Kristensen, who together with the future secretariat, will be based at INCUBA.

"It will be incredibly exciting to help realise the ambition of a more cyber secure future. I look forward to establishing and developing Security Tech Space and helping to realise the great potential of the business strengths in the Aarhus area.

With knowledge, research and talent from Aarhus University, Denmark's strongest IT business environment in INCUBA and the Alexandra Institute, world-leading research at the Department of Computer Science at Aarhus University, as well as numerous supporting businesses and a strong commitment from Aarhus University, as well as numerous supporting businesses and a strong commitment from Aarhus Municipality, we have a strong foundation to work from," says Peer H. Kristensen.

The synergies are also evident for INCUBA, which is pleased that Security Tech Space will be part of the science park's strong IT/tech community.

"We look forward with great enthusiasm to welcoming Security Tech Space at INCUBA Katrinebjerg. The initiative fits in well with our community and the positions of strength we have here in Aarhus, and we look forward to contributing to networking, collaboration and knowledge-sharing - also with the many SMEs that will benefit from the initiative. Cyber security requires new solutions that have not been developed today, and here the growth segment plays a special role. Therefore, we are also looking forward to a special effort for startups within cyber security and, together with the centre and the consortium partners, to create a targeted offer and environment for them," says CEO of INCUBA, Mai Louise Agerskov.
