Re-Claim secures new funding and takes the next step towards the market

The startup Re-Claim, based at INCUBA, has secured a total of DKK 1.4 million in funding to establish pilot production and accelerate its path to market for its bark-based building material.

The funding comes from Norlys and Boligfonden Kuben, each contributing DKK 200,000, as well as DKK 1 million in co-financing through Realdania’s Innovation to Market programme. Altogether, this marks an important step in the transition from laboratory to scalable production.

With the investment, Re-Claim is establishing a 150 m² pilot production line, where the company will mature its production and build the documentation and process control required for ETA and CE certification.

“This is a crucial step for us. We are moving from having a strong prototype to being able to document and deliver in practice. The pilot production makes it possible to reduce risk for developers and advisors and to turn interest into concrete projects,” says Frederik Ankjær, COO at Re-Claim.

Re-Claim works with upcycling bark from the timber industry into a biogenic building material with a low climate footprint and high durability. With the pilot production, the goal is to deliver to the first projects in autumn 2026 while establishing a local value chain where residual resources are given new life in construction.

At INCUBA, the development is seen as a strong example of how research and innovation can be translated into concrete solutions:

“Re-Claim is a great example of how new material solutions can move from idea to market when the right framework and collaborations are in place. It requires both patience, strong domain expertise, and access to the right competencies along the way,” says Jacob Doktor Mogensen, CEO of INCUBA.

Re-Claim is part of INCUBA and StartupLab Byg, where the company works closely with both advisors and other startups in developing the building materials of the future.
