From StartupLab to a CE-marked product: Cystotech grows at INCUBA

Since Cystotech moved into INCUBA Navitas in 2022, the company has developed its technology, achieved CE marking and expanded its organisation. Along the way, they have moved offices six times. Because when a startup develops, its surroundings need to keep up.

When Cystotech became part of INCUBA in 2022, the company started out in StartupLab at Navitas. Here, the team had the opportunity to begin in a smaller space at a rent that suited the startup Cystotech was at the time.

A lot has happened since then.

Cystotech has worked intensively on developing its technology and taking its product through the regulatory approval process. Today, the company has achieved CE marking, its product is approved for the European market, and the organisation has expanded along the way.

That development has also changed the company’s need for physical space.

Six offices since 2022

Cystotech has moved offices six times within INCUBA as the organisation has developed and its need for space has changed.

That may sound like a lot of moving in just a few years. But for Cystotech, the ability to continuously adapt its office space has been an advantage.

“We have been extremely happy with the flexibility and also with how quickly the moves have been handled,” says Anna Munk Nielsen from Cystotech.

During the latest move, Cystotech was relocated to its new office in just a couple of hours. It is a very tangible example of the flexibility that can be important for a startup, where today’s needs are not necessarily the same six months or two years from now.

At the same time, it makes a difference to Cystotech that many of the practical aspects of running a workplace are taken care of as part of everyday life at INCUBA.

“There are so many things around being based here that we don’t have to think about, which means we can focus all our attention on creating a great product,” says Anna Munk Nielsen.

Now it’s time to bring the product to market

After several years of technology development and regulatory work, Cystotech has reached a new stage.

With CE marking in place, the company’s focus is increasingly turning outwards. The next step is to engage with clinical partners and customers and continue establishing clinical and strategic collaborations.

At the same time, raising capital remains an important part of the journey as a startup.

In other words, another new chapter is beginning for Cystotech – and it is another example of how a company’s needs change as it moves from its early startup years towards an approved product and a market ready for what comes next.
