Fauna introduces the digital health record for pets

Pets have been a regular part of many Danish homes for many years. With an extra family member comes responsibility, such as visits to the vet, training, and insurance, along with a stack of documents that can be difficult to keep track of. Fauna has therefore developed a digital health record that gathers all the important information about your pet in one place, making it easy and manageable to keep track of everything that ensures your pet’s well-being.
Co-founders of Fauna, Benjamin O. Rasmussen and Jørgen Heinsen, INCUBA Navitas

In early 2025, Fauna became part of INCUBA StartupLab, and the two founders now work daily from their office at INCUBA Navitas. Even before Fauna became a permanent part of INCUBA, the entrepreneurs were an active part of INCUBA’s community where they participated in several events. Fauna values being part of a strong network of other startups and tech companies, where it has access to valuable advice and potential partners. Benjamin explains:

“After a tough period for the company, where we have operated from home, it has been a huge energy boost to have a daily routine in an innovative environment. Being part of INCUBA StartupLab gives us access to valuable feedback and resources. We have experienced an incredible open culture, where we can reflect on other companies and learn from their experiences.”

Fauna, like many other platform startups, has faced challenges in finding the right strategy and the best order for the platform’s development. The startup’s solution has for a long period of time relied on clinics, organisations, and pet owners engaging with the concept behind the app. However, through continuous adaptation, the entrepreneurs have now found an effective approach that provides them with a solid foundation for the future. Today, Fauna has found an effective model and has over 4,000 users. The startup’s app is the first pet app in Denmark to be approved by the country’s largest dog associations, including the Danish Kennel Club, the Danish Civil Dog Handler Association, and the Danish Hunters’ Association. This means the app is now a recognized digital replacement for the health book.

When it comes to the company’s focus for the near future, Benjamin explains:

“For the next 6 months, we expect Fauna to be truly embraced by the most passionate dog owners, who often need to document their pet’s health status. We will also launch the first version of our fully integrated solution with Europe’s largest clinic software system. With this integration, Fauna takes an important step towards becoming the veterinary industry’s answer to the MinLæge app (Danish healthcare app for citizens).”
